The Weather Project

When did you first become aware of the weather? Was it early in school when you glued cotton balls for clouds next to an imposing crayon sun? Or was it much later, when you suddenly looked up and saw the sky for what it was- a massive airborne topography of water molecules silently gliding past?

The weather enshrouds us emotionally and physically (to some degree or another) every moment we are alive. Usually we hardly notice its effects, but sometimes it manifests in ways that changes our perception of the world. And when we’re really lucky, those rare moments in time when the Gods are looking down upon us favorably, it feeds and inspires our own personal mythologies.

The Weather Project is an ambitious collaboration with musician and composer Shawn Coyle that addresses our own mythologies. In consort with mixed media visuals, formed soundscapes, and the written word, the Weather Project is an interpretation of the atmospheres of our very being.

Look for updates on this page throughout the coming year and please, don’t forget your umbrella.
